PDC—Industrial Noise: What's New

As safety and health professionals, we continue to face the challenges of addressing noise in the workplace. New developments in noise monitoring, engineering controls and hearing conservation continue to evolve. NIOSH is currently conducting research in several areas including the potential for synergistic effects involving certain chemical exposures and noise. Another area of interest involves the proper measurement of continuous and impact noise exposures.

Participants learned about current research initiatives. In addition, the PDC will provide an opportunity to receive refresher training on noise exposures and the administration of an effective hearing conservation program. The PDC was taught by Robert D. Willson, CIH. Mr. Willson is president of Beta Associates.
